DEBATE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY (PRODIC 2025-2026, FIRST PART)

Between October and November 2025, we held the Interuniversity Seminar : Debate on Artificial Intelligence at the UN Assembly.
The seminar was developed as the first part of the PRODIC Project, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Elena Crespo Navarro, Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the UMH, and was funded by the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations and Cooperation within the framework of the PRODIC-UMH 2025-2026 Teaching Projects for Internationalization at Home Program.
The objective is to study Public international law from a practical perspective, using an interactive and collaborative methodology through the use of gamification tools (Kahoot and Escape room) and simulation. Specifically, we simulated a regular session of the UN General Assembly in which “Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights” was debated, culminating in the students jointly and collaboratively drafting a final consensus resolution.
Participating in the seminar were fourth-year students of the double degree in DADE, who worked alongside students from the Italian universities of Perugia and Cagliari, under the supervision of professors of public international law and European Union law from those universities: Prof. Elena Crespo Navarro (UMH), Prof. Dr. Simone Vezzani/Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina Carta (University of Perugia), and Prof. Dr. Francesca Ippolito (University of Cagliari).
The activity took place over three sessions (October 20, November 3 and 5, 2025), moderated by professors from the UMH’s Department of Public International Law and International Relations and members of the UMH Jean Monnet Chair ReinforcEU team: Adela Rodríguez Mañogil (Assistant Professor); Rocío M. Pozo Tomás (pre-doctoral fellow), and Alessandra Nasoni (honorary collaborator).
