JEAN MONNET PROGRAMME

The aim of the Jean Monnet Actions is to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies worldwide.

It is about promoting dialogue between the academic environment and society, including national level policymakers.

The actions supported by the program generate knowledge and ideas that can support EU policymaking and strengthen the role of the EU in a globalized world.​

In particular, studies on the EU cover the study of Europe in its entirety, with particular emphasis on the process of European integration, taking into consideration both internal and external perspectives. It also seeks to promote active European citizenship and European values ​​and deal with the role of the EU in a globalized world.

Active outreach and educational work to spread knowledge about the EU among society in general (beyond the academic environment and the specialized public) bringing the EU closer to the general public is also being promoted.

Among the different types of Jean Monnet Actions in the field ofteaching and research there are Chairs and Modules. The Jean Monnet Chairs are teaching posts with a specialization in European Union studies practiced by university professors.
