PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW THROUGH CINEMA: A “BLOCKBUSTER” STATE? (PIEU-B/2025/83)
The Department of Public International Law and International Relations at the UMH is launching, in October, the teaching innovation project entitled Public International Law through Cinema: A “Blockbuster” State? PIEU-B/2025/83, thanks to funding from the UMH Vice-Rectorate for Studies (University Teaching Innovation Programme PIEU-UMH 2025-2026).
The project, coordinated by Prof. Adela Rodríguez Mañogil, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public International Law and International Relations at the UMH and UMH Jean Monnet Chair ReinforcEU team member, aims to promote the study of the legal status of the State (Lesson 9 of the theoretical syllabus of the subject Public International Law), using innovative teaching tools such as cinema and gamification.
The project’s teaching staff also includes professors from the Department of Public International Law and International Relations Elena Crespo Navarro, Rocío M. Pozo Tomás and Teresa Vidal Coves.
The activity will take place on October 8 and 22 with students of the Public International Law course in the 4th year of the Double Degree in Law and Business Administration and Management (DADE) and on October 20 and 27 with the 2nd year group of the Degree in Law.

DEBATE ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY (PRODIC 2025-2026, FIRST PART)
The Department of Public International Law and International Relations at Miguel Hernández University is launching, between October and November, the first part of the Project PRODIC-UMH 2025/2026 Debate on Artificial Intelligence at the UN Assembly.
The project, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Elena Crespo Navarro, Associate Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the UMH, is funded by the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations and Cooperation within the framework of the PRODIC-UMH 2025-2026 Internationalisation at Home Teaching Projects Programme.
The OBJECTIVE is to carry out an inter-university seminar in which a section of the Public International Law course syllabus will be analysed from a practical perspective, through an interactive and collaborative methodology using gamification tools (Kahoot and Escape room) and simulation.
Specifically, students will simulate a regular session of the UN General Assembly in which they will debate ‘Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights’, concluding with the joint drafting of a final consensus resolution.
PARTICIPATING in the project include 4th-year students from the Double Degree in Law and Business Administration (DADE), who will work alongside students from the Italian universities of Perugia and Cagliari, under the supervision of their respective professors of Public International Law and European Union Law: Prof. Dr. Simone Vezzani/Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina Carta (University of Perugia) and Prof. Dr. Francesca Ippolito (University of Cagliari).
The activity will take place over three sessions (October 20, November 3, and November 5, 2025) and will be MODERATED by professors from the UMH’s Department of Public International Law and International Relations, all members of the UMH Jean Monnet Chair ReinforcEU team: Adela Rodríguez Mañogil (Assistant Professor); Rocío M. Pozo Tomás (PhD Fellow) and Alessandra Nasoni (Honorary Collaborator).
